The Kearney County chapter in Minden was formed in 2005. Joel was one of the original founders of the chapter and has served as the chapter’s President since its inception.
Joel's involvement with Pheasants Forever began when he enrolled some of his own property into the popular Corners For Wildlife program.
Since forming in 2005, the Kearney County Chapter of Pheasants Forever has conducted 2 Youth Mentor Hunt events for 35 kids in the Minden and Axtell area.
With the help of the Nebraska Environmental Trust, the chapter purchased a native warm-season grass drill in 2006. Since the purchase of the drill last year, the chapter has helped create over 350 acres of habitat in Kearney County!
Joel’s chapter supports a number of state-wide habitat programs including Corners For Wildlife, CRP-MAP, Conservation Corners, and the State Habitat Raffle. Since 1996, their have been over 30 corners enrolled in Kearney County (187 acres).
In his spare time, Joel enjoys supporting his kids in their extra curricular activities, riding his Harley, and going to Nebraska Football games.
Joel resides in Minden and runs his farming operation in Franklin County. Joel is an outstanding chapter President that not only preaches the mission of the organization, but also practices the mission on his own farm
