In Nebraska Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever chapters enjoy the support of thousands of businesses and individuals who, through their generous support, help PF and QF deliver our mission of habitat improvement and conservation education.  November’s Pheasants Forever Hero of the Month, Wimmer’s Meats of West Point, Nebraska has been going the extra mile for several years.

Every year PF and QF chapters across the state sponsor Youth Mentor Hunts to introduce the great sport of pheasant and quail hunting to hundreds of Nebraska boys and girls between the ages of 12 and 15.  For the past several years, Wimmer’s Meats has provided breakfast or lunch with their quality meat products to every Nebraska PF and QF chapter holding a Youth Mentor Hunt.

Just in the last five years Wimmer’s has donated over 532 cases of breakfast sausage, hot dogs, or brats to over 266 Youth Mentor Hunt Events helping to feed more than 4,330 young hunters and over 7,500 adult mentors and volunteers.  Hunters know the value of a delicious meal after a day in the field and Wimmer’s Meats generosity has provided that healthy and nutritious meal to thousands of beginning hunters.

Because of their generous support of Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever Youth Programs and their dedication to help PF and QF introduce Nebraska’s young people to hunting; Wimmer’s Meats of West Point, Nebraska is the November Pheasants Forever Hero of the Month.
