Improving Nebraska and its Natural Resources One Acre at a Time!
Carter Stultz- Nemaha Valley PF
· The Nemaha Valley PF chapter was formed in 1993. Carter has served on the chapter committee since 1995 and has been the President since 1996..
· Carter has been a member of the Nebraska PF/QF State Council for 3 years. The last two he has served as State Council Treasurer.
· The chapter has raised and spent over $137,449 on 438 habitat projects (11,968 total acres) and conducted 9 Youth Mentor Hunts events (159 boys and girls) since 1993.
· Carter grew up in Alabama where he was introduced to deer and quail hunting by his father. After moving to Nebraska in 1988, Carter fell in love with upland bird hunting and can be found every fall following his dogs hunting pheasants, quail, and prairie grouse.
· Carter is Life Member of Pheasants Forever and is an active member in several other community organizations.
· Carter also writes a monthly outdoor article for the Nemaha County Herald.
· In addition to serving as a Mentor for the chapter’s Youth Mentor Hunt, Carter also helps pass on the tradition of hunting to area youth by teaching local hunter education classes.
· He works for the Nebraska Public Power District as a Radiation Protection Specialist.
· He has three kids: William, 23; Katlin, 21; Maddie, 11 and 1 Grandson.
· The Nemaha Valley chapter is not the largest chapter in Nebraska. But, the chapter takes advantage of many of the state-wide habitat programs, like CRP-MAP, to make sure that their habitat dollars affect as many acres as possible.
· Carter got involved with PF because he wanted to help make a difference in his community. Even with his busy schedule he makes the time to support local pheasant habitat projects, youth education, and passing on the tradition of pheasant and quail hunting by being involved with PF.
· Carter’s tireless dedication and thoughtful leadership to his local chapter, community, family, and Pheasants Forever makes him the ideal PF Hero of the Month.
