Grand Island Set to be Pheasant Capital of Nebraska on February 2nd Grand Island, Nebraska will be the pheasant and quail capital of Nebraska on Saturday February 2nd, when the Nebraska PF and QF State Habitat Meeting comes into town. This annual meeting is the largest wildlife focused meeting in the state and will once again bring some of the nation’s leading experts on pheasant and quail management, wildlife habitat, and conservation programs to Grand Island. The meeting will be held at the Mid-Town Holiday Inn and is open to the general public. If you are a landowner or just interested in learning more about how to best manage pheasants, quail, and other wildlife populations you will want to attend the 2008 PF and QF State Habitat Meeting. There will be an excellent slate of speakers in the morning and several concurrent sessions in the afternoon. All aspects of managing habitat for pheasants and quail will be covered throughout the day. There will also be a Landowner Help Desk set up where landowners can talk with wildlife biologists and get their habitat and wildlife management questions answered. Following the State Habitat Meeting will be the Nebraska PF and QF State-wide banquet. This banquet will also be held at the Mid-Town Holiday Inn in Grand Island. Hunting trips, unique artwork, and plenty of raffles will be available at the State-wide banquet. This event is also open to the public and all proceeds will help Nebraska’s Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever chapters establish more and better habitat and introduce young people to the sport of upland bird hunting. Please plan to attend both of these events. You can register for both the State Habitat Meeting and the State-wide Banquet on the www.NebraskaPF.com website.
