Republican Valley PF President Receives
 Conservation Award in Washington D.C.

Doug Breinig (Republican Valley PF President) and his wife Deb were recognized in Washington D.C. earlier this month for their outstanding contributions and support of the Conservation Reserve Program (CRP).  Doug and Deb were one of 13 different landowners from across the nation that  were recognized during CRP’s 20 anniversary celebration in D.C.

Doug and Deb also took this opportunity to speak with our state senators and congressman on the many benefits of the Conservation Reserve Program.  Being landowners in Furnas County, the Breinigs are well aware of the benefits of being enrolled into CRP.  According to Doug, “Being part of this program has made the difference in us keeping our losing our farm.”  Implementing conservation measures on their enrolled acres  has been helping Doug and Deb  to stabilize cash flow on their farming operation, better manage risk, and reduce energy and other input costs.  The Breinigs wanted to make sure this message is being communicated to our policy makers in Washington.
