Youth Mentor Hunt Season Is Here!

This coming weekend marks the beginning of the 2006 Pheasants Forever Youth Mentor Hunt season.  This is one of the most popular and successful youth education programs in the Nation.  The Nebraska PF/QF Youth Mentor Hunt Program is the largest program of its kind in the country, since 1996 Nebraska PF Chapters have held 299 events for over 5,100 youth.  The Youth Mentor Hunt program is designed to give Nebraska youth who have an interest in hunting but limited opportunity a chance to go pheasant hunting.  Every youth participant is paired up with an adult mentor for the day.  Mentors share their love of the outdoors and experiences hunting with the kids.  This year PF and QF chapters plan to hold about 58 Youth Mentor Hunts for over 900 kids.

Every youth participant not only gets to go hunting and learn from their mentor, but they are also given a special hat and a Boyt hunting vest.

If you have a youth between the ages of 12 and 15 who may qualify for this program or if you would like to volunteer as a mentor, please contact a PF/QF Regional Wildlife Biologist for a hunt near you.
