Grassland Improvement Program

Working with Landowners in Greeley, Howard, Nance
and Sherman Counties To Improve The Quality of Grasslands.

• Landowners will be offered a $30 per acre payment to defer the grazing on pastures for one calendar year when other grassland improvement programs are being performed on the grassland.

• The program is designed to be used in conjunction with:

Prescribed burns
The development of a rotational grazing system
Eastern red cedar control and removal
Interseeding pastures
Wildlife habitat improvement.

• This pilot program is a partnership with Pheasants Forever, The Natural Resources Conservation Service and the Nebraska Game & Parks Commission.
