Sherman County PF Will Host Habitat Tour on
Sherman Reservoir
Sherman County PF and the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission plan to host a habitat tour on Sherman Reservoir. This tour will highlight the different grassland management treatment types being conducted on Sherman County Reservoir that is part of the Focus On Pheasants partnership. The objective of the tour is to share information between resource professionals and landowners regarding grassland management and how it relates to CRP mid-contract management. Anyone interested in grassland management, CRP Mid-contract Management, and upland bird management won’t want to miss this tour.
Sherman County Grassland Management Activities Include:
- Disking of warm-season grass stands.
- Disking of cool-season grass stands.
- Controlled burn of cool-season grass stands.
- Disking and interseeding of warm-season grass stands.
- Disking and interseeding of cool-season grass stands.
- Herbicide application of cool-season grass stands.
- Herbicide application to previously upgraded cool-season grass stands.
