Saturday, February 3rd Grand Island will be the pheasant capital of Nebraska as the Heartland Event Center plays host to the annual Pheasants Forever/Quail Forever State Habitat Meeting. “We are going to have experts on wildlife biology, habitat management, and conservation programs speaking throughout the day” explained Keith Brus, Regional Wildlife Biologist for PF and QF. “Grand Island will be the place to be if you want to learn about pheasant and quail habitat needs, habitat management, or how to enroll property into a conservation program” Brus continued. The State Habitat Meeting is open to the public and people interested in attending the meeting can pre-register on the www.NebraskaPF.com website. Following the State Habitat Meeting, the Nebraska PF/QF State Council will hold it’s annual State-wide Banquet at the Mid-Town Holiday Inn on South Locust Street in Grand Island. This banquet will have some world-class artwork, hunts, and trips available. “We’ll be celebrating PF and QF’s accomplishments and successes” noted Brus, “everyone who enjoys hunting should make a point of attending this banquet.” 100% of the proceeds from this event will benefit wildlife habitat improvement and PF/QF’s Youth Mentor Hunt Program. Tickets are limited to 250 attendees and can be ordered on the www.NebraskaPF.com website or by calling Keith Brus at 308-754-4815.
