Lynn Haussermann
Franklin County QF
June - 2008
The Franklin County chapter in Franklin was formed in 2006. Lynn was one of the original founders of the chapter and has served as the chapters President since its inception. Lynns chapter held the first Quail Forever banquet in the state of Nebraska.
Lynns passion for quail and his participation in USDA conservation programs on his own farm made him a believer in habitat enhancement. Lynn wanted to help others put more habitat on the ground by starting a local QF chapter in his county.
In just two years, Lynns chapter has spent over $9,800 on 32 habitat projects (1,153 total acres) in Franklin County.
Since forming in 2006, the Franklin County Chapter of Quail Forever has conducted 2 Youth Mentor Hunt events for 26 kids in the Franklin County area.
Lynns chapter supports a number of state-wide habitat programs including Corners For Wildlife, CRP-MAP, and the State Habitat Raffle. Since 1996, their have been over 41 Corners for Wildlife projects enrolled in Franklin County (257 acres). Lynn also has a Corners For Wildlife project on his own property.
In his spare time, Lynn enjoys riding his Motorcycle, participating in prescribed burns, and chasing Bob white quail around his farm.
Lynn resides in Naponee with his wife Peggy of 36 years. Lynn runs his family farming operation with sons Brett and Jason. Haussermann Farms consist of 1,450 acres if row crop production and 1,100 acres of pasture where they run their cow/calf operation. Many of these acres are enrolled into CRP and other conservations programs specifically to enhance quail populations.
Lynn and his wife our outstanding volunteers who put a considerable amount of time into their local chapter. They not only promote the Quail Forever Mission by mouth, but they practice it on their own farm.
