Cudweed sagewort is common in foothills, plains, and prairies. It ranges from good to fair forage for sheep, fair for cattle, and poor for deer and elk in southern prairies and decreasing in palatability as it is north. Pawnee indians used the plant as a broom to sweep the lodge flooors and some other indians burned the plant, using the smoke to drive away mosquitos. |
